Japan’s Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries is accepting applicants to display flower arrangements and related works at the ministry’s main entrance during 2027. MAFF presents the program as part of its efforts to communicate the appeal of flowers ahead of GREEN×EXPO 2027, scheduled to open on March 19, 2027.
What MAFF announced
The application period runs from October 23 through November 24, 2026. The official page identifies people who run flower-arrangement classes around the Tokyo metropolitan area and people studying flower arrangement as examples of eligible applicants, with consultation possible. Applications are accepted by post or through the official web form.
Conditions to check before applying
- The applicant must cover material, transport, installation, and removal costs.
- The applicant must agree that display photos or videos may be posted on MAFF websites and social media.
- The display location or schedule may change because of site circumstances.
Applicants should read the implementation rules and the current application page before deciding whether to apply.
Why it matters to the flower trade
The program may give florists, teachers, designers, and students a public setting for their work. The official page does not describe sales of the displayed works or production-cost support. Applicants need to estimate direct costs, staff time, and the rights implications of public images in advance.
What businesses and applicants should verify
- Material and transport budget
- Who will install and remove the work, and when
- Consent and rights for web and social-media publication
- Backup staffing and flower sourcing if the schedule changes
